Steampunk Corsets: Lingerie with a History

Take a look at the lingerie you have in your closet and ask yourself, what do these mean to me?

For some, they might just mean comfort, while to others, they might mean a celebration of femininity.

However, there are some types of lingerie that mean more than just those two – they may actually tell a story and have a piece of history in them.

Take, for instance, the steampunk corset. There is no denying that looking at corsets is bound to elicit more feelings than a plain cotton bra, although the evolution of the bra is nothing to scoff at as well. It just so happens that steampunk corsets evoke a different response because of how they look.

Steampunk Corsets
Corsets are tantalizing enough to the senses, but wait until you see Wonder Lingerie Plus Steampunk corsets.

For those who don’t know, steampunk is a genre of literature which is about the Victorian era that features advanced technology at the time, such as steam engines and train gears.

Think Wild, Wild West or perhaps The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, as these movies will give you a great idea as to how steampunk works.

As you watch the movie, particularly the first example, take note of the clothes worn by the leading lady and the rest of the women in the cast. It is hard not to notice the steampunk corsets they wear because the design and structure is just extraordinary.

The attention to detail really grabs the eye and provokes the imagination.

Kinds of Steampunk Corsets
There are many different kinds of steampunk corsets but one thing is for sure: these are meant to be shown off. They have so many amazing details that you really do not want to hide them under your clothes.

For those who love the steampunk look, these corsets are essential. Design-wise, they are a mix of metals, lace, and leather – what could be sexier than that?

You can find corsets that come with laces in the front and ones that have laces at the back. You can find ones that are strapless, ones that have a halter neckline design, and even ones that have a one-shoulder style.

If you want your corsets to bare all, there are corsets that will fit your choice but if you want something that covers you up, you can also opt for ones that have a skirt detail.

Wearing Corsets

There is no denying that these corsets have a costume feel to them. So what does this mean for you? Well, it means that you can wear the corset as a costume or you can wear them in the bedroom for some rocking good times.

If you are heavily into steampunk, you can even use the corsets as a daily thing. It really is all up to you but one thing you need to remember is that if you buy corsets, you want to make sure you buy the ones that will give you the most bang for your buck.
